Kijiji MCP server: let your AI agent search Canadian classifieds

#What your agent gets

The tool takes a required query, for example road bike or standing desk. The optional inputs are location, min_price, max_price, sort, page and include_top_ads. Prices are in CAD.

location defaults to canada. You can pick a province, such as ontario or british-columbia, or a metro area, such as toronto, montreal, vancouver or calgary. toronto covers the Greater Toronto Area, ottawa covers Ottawa and Gatineau, and london-on is London, Ontario. The sort input takes relevance (the default), newest, oldest, price_low or price_high.

Each page holds 40 listings. Each listing has id, title, description, price_cad, price_type, location, posted, price_drop, verified_seller, top_ad, image, url and listed. The price_type tells you whether the price is fixed, free, on request ("contact") or a swap or trade. The result also has total, query, location and page.

Top Ads (paid placements) are dropped by default. Set include_top_ads to true to keep them, marked with top_ad.

#How a request flows

1. You ask your agent: "Find standing desks in Toronto under 300 CAD, cheapest first."
2. The agent calls find_recipe, then run with kijiji.ca/search-listings, query set to standing desk, location set to toronto, max_price set to 300 and sort set to price_low.
3. wield-mcp passes the run through the local bridge to the Wield extension.
4. The extension sends the request from your browser, so it carries the session you already have.
5. The listings go back to your agent. Nothing passes through wield.run.

#What leaves your computer

A search makes one request to www.kijiji.ca, for one results page. The recipe is read only. It never sends a message to a seller. Wield logs the request on your computer only, with method, host, path, status and timing, and never logs bodies or query values. Telemetry is off by default. Wield never reads, copies or sends your cookies or passwords.

#Kijiji's terms, in plain words

Kijiji's robots.txt has no rules for AI agents, as checked on 7 November 2026. It has no group for Claude-User, ClaudeBot or anthropic-ai, and no Content-Signal line. It allows the /b- search pages that this recipe uses. We have not reviewed Kijiji's terms for automated access yet. The recipe is user-initiated: you start each search, each call runs one search in your own browser, and it is not for bulk collection. The recipe makes no purchases. Messages to sellers stay on kijiji.ca. This is not legal advice. Read Kijiji's terms yourself before you use this recipe in any other way.

#Limits and what is not working yet

• Read only. The recipe finds listings. It does not message sellers or buy.
• No status yet. The recipe has no status row, so no live result is published as of 7 November 2026.
• Top Ads are hidden. Set include_top_ads to see them.
• Price types vary. A listing can be priced, free, "contact" or a swap. Read price_type before you compare prices.
• One page at a time. Each page holds 40 listings. Use page for the next one, one call per page.
• Run limits apply. A run has at most 12 steps, 40 requests, 5 MB per response and 60 seconds.

#Can the agent message a seller or buy?

No. The recipe only searches. Open the listing's url to contact the seller on kijiji.ca.

#Does the search cover all of Canada?

Yes, by default. location is canada unless you choose a province or a metro area.

#Does it need a Kijiji login?

No. Search works without an account.

#Which AI apps work with it?

Any MCP client. npx -y wield-mcp init sets up Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. Other MCP clients work with the standard stdio config.

#Where do the results go?

To your agent, on your own computer. The results never pass through wield.run.
