Privacy policy.
Your passwords, cookies and results stay on your laptop. Here is exactly what Wield keeps, sends and never sees.
Wield is an open-source tool that lets your AI agent use websites through your own browser. This policy covers the Wield browser extension, the Wield bridge and MCP server you install on your computer, and the registry at wield.run.
Who runs Wield
Wield is run by Victor Gulchenko, who is responsible for the processing described here (the controller under the GDPR). Contact: victor.gulchenko@gmail.com
What stays on your device
- Your passwords, cookies and sessions. Wield never asks for, stores or sends them. Requests to a site use your browser's existing session, the same way the site's own pages do.
- Page contents and results. The extension reads a site's responses only to produce the result your agent asked for. That result goes to the agent on your computer that asked for it. If that agent sends it on (for example to an AI model provider), that is governed by the agent's own terms, not by Wield.
- The run log. The extension and bridge keep a local log of requests (method, site, path, status, duration) so you can see what was sent. It never leaves your device.
What Wield sends over the network
- From your browser: only the requests a recipe describes, and only to the sites that recipe names. You can see each one in the extension's popup.
- From the MCP server on your computer: requests to wield.run to download public recipes. These contain no personal data. If you request a new site, the site name and task text you entered are sent.
- Optional outcome counts. Off by default. If you turn them on, the MCP server sends {recipe id, version, success or failure, duration, error code} and nothing else. The server does not store IP addresses.
What we store on wield.run
- Public recipes.
- Anonymous outcome counts, if you opted in.
- Site requests: the site and task you asked for, and an email address only if you entered one in the web form.
We don't sell data, show ads, or use data for anything other than running and improving Wield.
