Let Claude search Swiss businesses on local.ch
To let Claude search local.ch, install Wield and name a trade and a Swiss place. For example: "Find dentists in Zürich on local.ch with phone numbers and opening hours." Claude runs the local.ch/search-businesses recipe in your own browser. It returns the name, categories, address, phone number, map position and opening status of each entry, 20 per call. No login is needed.

Parameters (2)
What you need
- Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or another MCP client.
- A Chromium browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Vivaldi, Opera) with the Wield extension.
wield-mcp. Runnpx -y wield-mcp init, or use the one-click Claude Desktop bundle on wield.run/install.
For the full setup, follow the quick start.
Ask your agent
Give the trade and the Swiss place. Claude calls find_recipe to find the recipe, then run with the two parameters.
You: Find dentists in Zürich on local.ch with phone numbers and opening hours.
Claude runs local.ch/search-businesses with what set to zahnarzt and where set to zürich, then reads the entries that come back.
Params: what to put where
| Param | Required | What to put in it |
|---|---|---|
what | yes | Trade in German, for example zahnarzt, elektriker or coiffeur. It must be a category local.ch knows. |
where | yes | Swiss place, for example zürich, bern, basel or luzern. |
The recipe writes umlauts in the path as ae, oe and ue, which local.ch answers directly. Business names do not work here. They go to local.ch's full-text search, which this recipe does not use, so the run fails with a redirect.
What comes back
The result has what, where, total and businesses. total is the number of matches local.ch reports, for example 406 for a dentist search in Zürich in our check on 7 November 2026. businesses holds the first 20 entries of the search.
Each entry shows name, categories, address, phone, open_now, opening, latitude, longitude and url. The coordinates let your agent place each entry on a map. The url opens the entry on local.ch.
Star ratings are not in the results, because the page draws them as stars without text. In our checks, no entry was labelled as an ad or premium entry.
What leaves your computer
The recipe makes one request to www.local.ch, for one results page. The request goes out from your browser, and nothing passes through wield.run. Wield logs the request on your computer, with method, host, path, status and timing, and never logs bodies or query values.
Limits
- The recipe only searches. It does not call, review or book any entry.
- Trades only. Free-text terms fail, because the full-text search is disallowed by robots.txt and the recipe does not use it.
- Only the first 20 entries come back in one call.
- A run has at most 12 steps, 40 requests, 5 MB per response and 60 seconds.
local.ch's terms, in plain words
The site's robots.txt allows /de/q/, the search path this recipe uses. It disallows /de/s/, the full-text search, and the map, print and route URLs. It has no rules for Claude agents or AI content signals. The recipe makes one request per call, with no calls, reviews or bookings. Wield has not yet reviewed local.ch's terms of use for automated access, so check them yourself.
The recipe runs one search that you start yourself, in your own browser, one search per call. It is not for bulk collection and it makes no purchases.
