Gelbe Seiten MCP server: let your AI agent find local businesses in German cities

#What your agent gets

The tool takes what, the trade in German as Gelbe Seiten names it, and where, a German city. Both are required. The optional limit is 5, 10, 20 or 50, and the default is 20. Trade names such as zahnarzt, elektriker, schlüsseldienst and friseur work, and so do multi-word terms such as pizza lieferservice.

In our check on 7 November 2026, zahnarzt in berlin passed all 6 checks in one request and about 620 ms. The directory reported 1,342 hits for that search.

#How a request flows

1. You ask your agent: "Find a zahnarzt in Berlin and show the five first entries with phone numbers."
2. The agent calls find_recipe, then run with gelbeseiten.de/search-businesses and what: "zahnarzt", where: "berlin" and limit: 5.
3. wield-mcp passes the run through the local bridge to the Wield extension.
4. The extension sends the one request from your browser, to www.gelbeseiten.de.
5. The businesses go back to your agent. Nothing passes through wield.run.

#What leaves your computer

The only host is www.gelbeseiten.de. A search makes one request, and no login is needed. Passwords and cookies never leave your computer: Wield never reads, copies or sends them. Wield logs each request on your computer only, with method, host, path, status and timing, and never logs bodies or query values. Telemetry is off by default.

The recipe reads the public entries Gelbe Seiten publishes. Business phone numbers and addresses come from those entries.

#Gelbe Seiten's terms, in plain words

We have not had Gelbe Seiten's terms reviewed by a lawyer, so this is not legal advice. The recipe uses the /branchen list pages, which robots.txt allows. It does not use the /suche search path, which robots.txt disallows. It makes one request per call and does not send e-mail, chat or call actions. Check the site's terms yourself before you automate anything else.

#Limits

• Read only. The recipe searches. It sends no messages and makes no calls.
• Known trades only. A trade the directory does not know makes the run fail with a redirect. Use a common German trade name.
• City names, not postcodes. where takes a German city, such as köln or frankfurt am main.
• Gelbe Seiten's order. The recipe returns the first entries in the directory's order, up to limit.
• Run limits. A run has at most 12 steps, 40 requests, 5 MB per response and 60 seconds.
• Bot checks stop the run. If a site shows a check, such as a CAPTCHA, the run stops and asks you to solve it in your own tab.

#Does the Gelbe Seiten tool need a login?

No. The search needs no account.

#Which AI apps work with it?

Any MCP client. npx -y wield-mcp init sets up Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. Claude Desktop also has a one-click bundle on install.

#Can the tool book an appointment or send a message to a business?

No. It only reads search results, and it never sends e-mail, chat or call actions.

#Does the result include ratings?

Yes. Each business comes back with rating and reviews.

#Why did my search fail with a redirect?

The trade is one the directory does not know. Try the common German trade name, such as zahnarzt or elektriker.
