Let Claude find local businesses on Gelbe Seiten by trade and city
To let Claude find local businesses on Gelbe Seiten, install Wield and name a trade and a German city. For example: "Find zahnarzt in berlin and list the first five with phone number, rating and whether they are open now." Claude runs the gelbeseiten.de/search-businesses recipe in your own browser. It returns up to 50 businesses in Gelbe Seiten's order, with address, distance, phone number, rating and opening state. No login is needed.

What you need
- Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or another MCP client.
- A Chromium browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Vivaldi, Opera) with the Wield extension.
wield-mcp. Runnpx -y wield-mcp init, or use the one-click Claude Desktop bundle on install.
For the full setup, follow the quick start.
Ask your agent
Give the trade and the city. Use the German trade name that Gelbe Seiten uses, such as zahnarzt, elektriker, schlüsseldienst or friseur. Claude calls find_recipe to find the recipe, then run with the parameters.
You: Find zahnarzt in berlin and list the first five with address, phone number and whether they are open now.
For that prompt, Claude runs gelbeseiten.de/search-businesses with what set to zahnarzt, where set to berlin and limit set to 5, then reads the entries from the result.
Params: what to put where
| Param | Required | What to put in it |
|---|---|---|
what | yes | The trade or business type in German, for example zahnarzt, elektriker, schlüsseldienst or pizza lieferservice. |
where | yes | A German city, for example berlin, köln or frankfurt am main. |
limit | no | 5, 10, 20 or 50. Default 20. |
A trade the directory does not know makes the run fail with a redirect. Use the common trade name in that case.
What comes back
The result has what, where, total and businesses. total is the number of hits the directory reports, or null when it does not give one.
Each business has name, trade, address, distance_km, phone, rating, reviews, open_now, opening and url. open_now says whether the entry is open at the moment, and opening gives the opening text. url opens the entry on Gelbe Seiten.
What leaves your computer
The recipe makes one request to www.gelbeseiten.de. The request goes out from your browser, and nothing passes through wield.run. Wield logs the request on your computer only, without bodies or query values. Passwords and cookies stay on your computer. Business phone numbers and addresses come from the public entries Gelbe Seiten publishes.
Limits and terms
- We have not had Gelbe Seiten's terms reviewed by a lawyer, so this is not legal advice. The recipe uses the
/branchenlist pages, which robots.txt allows, and not the/suchesearch path, which robots.txt disallows. - The recipe makes one request per call. It sends no e-mail, chat or call actions. Do not loop it.
- The recipe is read only.
- Status on 7 Nov 2026 is "ok": 6 of 6 checks in 1 request and about 620 ms. The check was
zahnarztinberlin, and the search withlimit50 forelektrikerinkölnalso ran. - A run has at most 12 steps, 40 requests, 5 MB per response and 60 seconds.
Check the site's terms yourself before you automate anything else.
