Let Claude search Alternate for PC hardware and electronics
To let Claude search Alternate, install Wield and name the product and the specs you want. For example: "Find 2 TB SSDs on Alternate and show price, was-price, availability and rating." Claude runs the alternate.de/search-products recipe in your own browser, with a query such as ssd 2tb. It returns product names, specs, prices in euros, stock status and ratings. No login is needed.

What you need
- Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or another MCP client.
- A Chromium browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Vivaldi, Opera) with the Wield extension.

Ask your agent
Give the product or spec you want. Short search terms work best, such as a model number, a capacity or a chip name. Claude calls find_recipe to find the recipe, then run with the query.

Claude then runs alternate.de/search-products with query set to ssd 2tb, and reads the fields from each product.

The recipe searches the same way the shop's search page does. Use the words a product page would use, such as a model number or a spec.
What comes back
The result has query, page and products. Each product shows its name and spec line, price_eur, was_price_eur where the shop shows a crossed-out price, availability and in_stock, rating and ratings_count, an image and a url.
Prices are numbers in euros, so Claude can sort them. The availability text is the shop's own wording, such as "Sofort verfügbar" or a delivery time. The result does not include a total count of matching products, because the shop does not show one in a stable place on the page.
url opens the product on Alternate, where you can check the price and buy.
What leaves your computer
The recipe makes one request to www.alternate.de for one results page. It goes out from your browser, with no basket and no login. Nothing passes through wield.run. Wield logs each request on your computer, with method, host, path and status, and never logs bodies or query values.
Limits and terms
- Alternate's terms have not been reviewed for automated access yet. The recipe does one search page per call, the same page a visitor sees. Don't loop it to watch prices.
- The site's robots.txt disallows
/rest/and*.jsonand has no rules for AI agents. This recipe runs only when you ask for a search. - Booking and checkout stay on Alternate. The recipe never adds items to a basket.
- Status on 7 Nov 2026 is "ok". The check passed 5 of 5 checks in one request, in 0.6 s.
FAQ
Can Claude buy the product?
No. The recipe only searches. Open the product's url from the result to buy on Alternate.
Does the search show the price?
Yes. price_eur is the price the shop shows. was_price_eur is set only where a crossed-out price is shown.
Does it need a login?
No. The search needs no account.
Does the result tell how many products match?
No. The recipe returns one page of products at a time, and the shop's result count is not returned.
