Let Claude search UK jobs on Reed with contract and salary filters

To let Claude search Reed, install Wield and ask for a job title, with a UK place and filters if you want them. For example: "Find permanent Python jobs in London on Reed, full time, with salary and closing date." Claude runs the reed.co.uk/search-jobs recipe in your own browser. It returns matching jobs with contract, hours, salary and links. No Reed login is needed.

What you need

  • Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or another MCP client.
  • A Chromium browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Vivaldi, Opera or Chromium) with the Wield extension.
  • wield-mcp. Run npx -y wield-mcp init, or use the one-click Claude Desktop bundle on wield.run/install.

For the full setup, follow the quick start.

Ask your agent

Give the job title or skill as keywords. Add a UK town, city or postcode area as location, and any filters you need.

You: Find permanent Python jobs in London on Reed, full time, with salary and closing date.

Claude calls find_recipe to find the recipe, then run with reed.co.uk/search-jobs, keywords set to python, location set to london, contract set to permanent and hours set to full_time. It reads each job from the result.

What comes back

The result has keywords, location, total, page and jobs. Each job has title, company, location, contract, hours, working, salary_from, salary_to, salary_per, posted_at, expires_at, easy_apply, promoted and url.

salary_per shows whether the salary is per year, per day or per hour, so your agent does not mix units. total counts every match.

In our check on 7 November 2026, a permanent search for python in London passed all 6 checks in one request, in 408 ms, and returned 1,064 matches.

Salary units

Reed lists salaries per year, per day or per hour. Read salary_per next to salary_from and salary_to before you compare two jobs. A day rate and a yearly salary are not the same kind of figure.

What leaves your computer

The recipe makes one request, to www.reed.co.uk, for one results page. The request goes out from your own browser, not from wield.run. Nothing passes through wield.run. Wield logs the request on your computer only, with method, host, path, status and timing, and never logs bodies or query values. Wield never reads, copies or sends your cookies or passwords.

Params in practice

Set location before distance_miles, because the distance has no effect without a place. Filters such as contract and hours narrow the list before the total is counted. The recipe never sorts results, so your agent sorts them if you need an order.

Reed's terms, in plain words

Reed's robots.txt allows the search pages. It disallows /api/ and search URLs with sortBy=, so the recipe never sorts. It has no rules for Claude agents or AI content signals. The recipe makes one request per call. It does not submit applications, set up job alerts or save jobs, and it makes no purchases. Our review of Reed's terms is not finished, and this is not legal advice. Use the recipe for one search that you start yourself, in your own browser, and not for bulk collection of listings. Read the site's terms yourself before you use this recipe in any other way.

Limits

  • Applying stays on Reed. Open the job's url to apply.
  • Promoted jobs are dropped unless include_ads is true.
  • Each call reads one results page. Don't loop it to watch for new jobs.
  • A run has at most 12 steps, 40 requests, 5 MB per response and 60 seconds.

FAQ

Can Claude apply for a job?

No. The recipe only searches. Open the job's url to apply on Reed yourself.

Does it need a login?

No. The search needs no account.

Why are some salaries per day or per hour?

Reed lists some pay per day or per hour. The salary_per field shows the unit for each job.

Which AI apps work with it?

Any MCP client. npx -y wield-mcp init sets up Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. See the MCP server page for Reed for the full recipe details.
