Bundesagentur für Arbeit – Jobsuche MCP server: let your AI agent search jobs and apprenticeships on the official job board

Wield is an MCP server that gives your AI agent one tool for the Jobsuche of the Bundesagentur für Arbeit, Germany's largest job board. The agent can search jobs and apprenticeships by title, place, radius and publish date. It gets back the employer, location, salary range when one is given, and the job link. The search needs no login and sends no cookies.

What your agent gets

A Wield recipe is a small public file that describes the request a site needs. Your agent runs it through wield-mcp, the local MCP server on your computer.

RecipeWhat it doesLoginStatus (7 Nov 2026)
arbeitsagentur.de/search-jobsSearches jobs and apprenticeships: title, employer, occupation, salary when given, distance, home office, start date and linkNook, 5 of 5 checks

The recipe takes a query, a location or postcode, a radius from 0 to 200 km, the type (job or apprenticeship), a publish window in days, and a switch to leave out private recruitment agencies. Agencies are left out by default. On 7 November 2026, a nursing search in Leipzig within 25 km returned 276 offers in total and 25 results in 170 ms. The how-to guide shows example prompts.

How a request flows

  1. You ask your agent for nursing jobs in Leipzig, or for apprenticeships posted in the last week.
  2. The agent calls find_recipe, then run with arbeitsagentur.de/search-jobs.
  3. wield-mcp runs the recipe through the local bridge.
  4. The request goes to rest.arbeitsagentur.de. The recipe needs no login and sends no cookies.
  5. The results return to your agent. Nothing passes through wield.run.

What leaves your computer

  • One search request to rest.arbeitsagentur.de per call.
  • No login and no cookies.
  • Results go to your AI app. They are marked as website content, so your agent is told not to follow instructions found in them.
  • Logs stay on your computer. They never record request bodies or query values.

Recipes are data, not code, and no JavaScript from the registry runs in the page. The registry signs every recipe with Ed25519, and wield-mcp refuses a recipe that is unsigned or has changed. Wield sends no Cookie or Host headers, and it redacts derived tokens from results and logs.

Bundesagentur für Arbeit – Jobsuche terms, in plain words

The recipe's notes describe this board as a public-sector job board with a documented public API. The recipe makes one search request per call. It is read only, so it changes nothing on the site.

Limits and what is not working yet

  • The documented v4 path of the board's API now returns 403. The recipe uses v6.
  • The recipe searches this one board only. It does not search other job sites.
  • We have no benchmark row for this recipe yet.
  • If the board changes its API again, the recipe can stop working until it is updated.

Every run stops at 12 steps, 40 requests, 5 MB per response or 60 seconds. Pacing is set per site. Wield also checks public read recipes that can run from a server every day. A failing recipe is marked degraded, and wield-mcp falls back to the last good version.

FAQ

Is there an official Bundesagentur für Arbeit MCP server?
