StepStone MCP server: let your AI agent search jobs by title and location

Wield is an MCP server that gives your AI agent one StepStone tool. The tool searches StepStone, a large German job board, by job title and location. It returns the title, company, location, home-office option, salary when it is shown, how long ago the job was posted, and the job link. It runs in your own browser, one results page per call, with no account and no applications.

What your agent gets

RecipeWhat it doesLoginStatus (7 Nov 2026)
stepstone.de/search-jobsSearches jobs by title and location, within a radius of 5 to 100 km, sorted by relevance or dateNoOK, live check

The parameters are query (required), location (default Deutschland), radius_km (5, 10, 20, 30, 50 or 100), sort (relevance or date) and page. Each page holds up to 25 jobs. In our live check on 7 November 2026, a search for "python entwickler" in Berlin found 34 jobs and returned 25 of them in 1.2 seconds. Each job comes with its company, locations, a home-office flag, the posting age, any salary StepStone shows and the job link. Labels such as "Schnelle Bewerbung" (quick application) appear when StepStone shows them. The how-to page has example prompts.

How a request flows

  1. You ask your agent: "Find data engineer jobs within 20 km of Munich, newest first."
  2. The agent calls find_recipe, then run with stepstone.de/search-jobs, your query, location, radius_km: 20 and sort: date.
  3. wield-mcp passes the run through a local bridge to the Wield extension.
  4. The extension sends the request from a stepstone.de tab, so it carries your browser session.
  5. The results go back to your agent. Nothing passes through wield.run.

What leaves your computer

The recipe makes one results-page request per call to www.stepstone.de. Passwords and cookies never leave your computer. Wield logs the request on your computer only, without the body or query values.

StepStone terms, in plain words

We have not completed a review of StepStone's terms for this recipe, so read them before you automate anything else. The recipe reads one results page per call, as a person browsing would. It does not apply for jobs and does not create an account.

Limits and what is not working yet

  • Salary is often empty. StepStone shows salary mostly to logged-in users. The recipe runs without a login, so the salary field is often empty.
  • The radius is around your location. It applies around the location you give. Sort by date for the newest jobs first, or leave it on relevance.
  • Pages of 25. Use page to read the next set of results.
  • No benchmark yet. We have not compared this recipe with a browser agent, so this page makes no speed claim.
  • No applications. The recipe reads listings. It does not apply, save or message anyone.
