GialloZafferano MCP server: let your AI agent search Italian recipes

#What your agent gets

The tool takes one required input, query, the dish or ingredients in Italian or English, for example lasagne, tiramisù or pollo al forno. The optional inputs are difficulty and page. difficulty takes any (the default), facile, media or difficile. The filter facile includes molto facile. page starts at 1.

The result gives query, total (the number of matches, or empty when the site does not report one), page and recipes. Each recipe has a title, course, rating (out of 5), comments, difficulty, total_time as the site shows it (for example 1 h 10 min), total_minutes, kcal (calories per portion) and url.

#How a request flows

1. You ask your agent: "Find easy lasagne recipes on GialloZafferano, with the total time and calories per portion."
2. The agent calls find_recipe, then run with giallozafferano.it/search-recipes, query set to lasagne and difficulty set to facile.
3. wield-mcp passes the run through the local bridge to the Wield extension.
4. The extension sends the search from a GialloZafferano tab in your browser.
5. The recipes go back to your agent. Nothing passes through wield.run.

In our check on 7 November 2026, a lasagne search passed all 5 checks in one request, in 0.2 s, with 105 matches in total. Pollo al forno, the facile filter and page 2 were also checked.

#What leaves your computer

A search makes one request to www.giallozafferano.it, for one result page. The recipe does not open recipe pages. Wield logs the request on your computer only, with method, host, path, status and timing, and it never logs bodies or query values. Telemetry is off by default. Wield never reads, copies or sends your cookies or passwords.

#GialloZafferano's terms, in plain words

GialloZafferano's robots.txt disallows the whole site (Disallow: /) for Claude-Web and anthropic-ai. Its rules for other agents allow the search. Wield lists the recipe with this note. The recipe runs only when you ask. It makes one search request per call from your own browser, reads one result page, and does not crawl recipe pages or collect in bulk.

The scope is simple. Wield runs this recipe when you ask for it, for one search per call, from your own browser. It does not run bulk jobs, and it does not buy anything.

#Limits and what is not working yet

• Read only. The recipe searches. It does not save or rate recipes, and it does not log in.
• No-recipe queries fail. A query with no recipe at all is redirected to the site-wide search. The recipe does not follow that redirect, so the run fails instead of returning an empty list.
• Total can be empty. total is empty when the site does not report a count.
• Fuzzy matching. Check the title before you use a result.
• Run limits apply. A run has at most 12 steps, 40 requests, 5 MB per response and 60 seconds.
• No benchmark yet. We have not benchmarked this recipe against a browser agent.

#Can the agent save a recipe or rate it?

No. The recipe only searches. It does not log in or change anything on the site.

#Does the search need a GialloZafferano account?

No. Search works without an account.

#Can the agent get more than the first page?

Yes, by setting page to 2 or higher. Each page is a separate search, so it is one request per call.

#Which AI apps work with it?

Any MCP client. npx -y wield-mcp init sets up Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. Other MCP clients work with the standard stdio config.

#Where do the results go?

To your agent, on your own computer. The results never pass through wield.run.
