Let Claude search WG-Gesucht rooms and flats in a German city

To let Claude search WG-Gesucht, install Wield and name a city, a category and your maximum rent. For example: "Find WG rooms in München up to 700 EUR a month, at least 15 m², newest first." Claude runs the wg-gesucht.de/search-rooms recipe in your own browser. It returns each offer's rent, size, flatmates, district, availability and link. No login is needed.

What you need

  • Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or another MCP client.
  • A Chromium browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Vivaldi, Opera) with the Wield extension.
  • wield-mcp. Run npx -y wield-mcp init, or use the one-click Claude Desktop bundle on wield.run/install.

For the full setup, follow the quick start.

Ask your agent

Give the city, the kind of place you want and your limits. Claude calls find_recipe to find the recipe, then run with the parameters.

You: Find WG rooms in München up to 700 EUR a month, at least 15 m², newest first.

Claude then runs wg-gesucht.de/search-rooms with city, category, max_rent and min_size, and reads the rent, size and availability from each offer.

Params: what to put where

ParamRequiredWhat to put in it
cityyesCity name, for example München, Berlin or Frankfurt am Main.
categorynowg_room (default), one_room_flat, flat or house.
max_rentnoMaximum total rent in EUR per month.
min_sizenoMinimum size in m².
pagenoResults page. Default 1.
include_partner_offersnotrue keeps offers from commercial partners and paid placements, marked. Default false.

The city is looked up with WG-Gesucht's own city search. Wield uses the first match and returns the city it matched, for example München (Bayern), in the city field.

What comes back

The result has city, category, page and offers. Each offer shows its title, rent_eur, size_m2, type, wg_size, district, street, available_from, available_until (for fixed-term lets), flatmates, online (when it went online), partner_offer, image and url. Offers are newest first. Advertisers' names are left out.

What leaves your computer

The recipe makes 2 requests to www.wg-gesucht.de. They go out from your browser. Nothing passes through wield.run. Wield logs each request on your computer, without bodies or query values.

Limits and terms

  • WG-Gesucht's terms have not been reviewed for automated access yet. The recipe runs one search that you start, with two requests. Do not loop it to watch offers.
  • The recipe sends no messages and needs no login. Contacting landlords stays on wg-gesucht.de.
  • Partner offers and paid placements are dropped unless you set include_partner_offers.
  • Check the city value in the result, since the first match wins.

Status

On 7 Nov 2026 the recipe passed 6 of 6 checks in 2 requests, in 0.7 s. The check was a Munich search with a maximum rent of 700 EUR and a minimum size of 15 m². We have not benchmarked this recipe yet.
