Just Eat MCP server: let your AI agent search restaurants that deliver to a UK postcode

Wield is an MCP server that gives your AI agent one Just Eat tool, just-eat.co.uk/search-restaurants. The tool lists restaurants that deliver to, or offer collection near, a UK postcode. Each restaurant comes with its rating, delivery time, delivery fee, minimum order and cuisines. The search runs in your own browser, so the requests carry your own browser session. It needs no login and places no order.

What your agent gets

RecipeWhat it doesLoginStatus (7 Nov 2026)
just-eat.co.uk/search-restaurantsLists Just Eat restaurants and shops that deliver to, or offer collection near, a UK postcodeNoOK. 7 of 7 checks passed in one request

The tool takes a required postcode, for example EC4M 7RF or M1 1AE. The optional inputs are service (delivery, the default, or collection), cuisine, name, open_now (default true), sort (default, rating or distance), include_sponsored (default false) and limit (5, 10, 25 or 50, default 25).

The default sort is Just Eat's organic ranking. Paid promoted placements are removed unless you set include_sponsored to true. Kept placements are marked sponsored: true in the result.

What comes back

The result has area, postal_code, total and restaurants. total counts the matching restaurants before limit is applied.

Each restaurant has id, name, url, cuisines, rating, rating_count, open_now, eta_min_from and eta_min_to (the delivery time range, in minutes), distance_m, address, deals, new, sponsored, delivery_fee_gbp, min_order_gbp and free_delivery_from_gbp. Fees come in pounds sterling. The url opens the restaurant on just-eat.co.uk, where you order.

How a request flows

  1. You ask your agent: "Which pizza places deliver to EC4M 7RF and are open now? Show the delivery fee and the minimum order."
  2. The agent calls find_recipe, then run with just-eat.co.uk/search-restaurants and postcode set to EC4M 7RF.
  3. wield-mcp passes the run through the local bridge to the Wield extension.
  4. The extension sends the request from a just-eat.co.uk tab in your browser, so it runs with your own session.
  5. The restaurants go back to your agent. Nothing passes through wield.run.

In our check on 7 November 2026, a pizza search for EC4M 7RF passed all 7 checks in one request, in about 1.1 seconds.

Why this recipe runs only in your browser

Just Eat blocks servers. Its pages answer a server with a Cloudflare challenge, so this recipe does not run from a cloud server. It runs only in your own browser, through the Wield extension. If a check appears on the page, Wield stops and asks you to solve it in your own tab. Wield does not solve that check for you.

What leaves your computer

The search makes one request to uk.api.just-eat.io, the API host that the Just Eat site calls for restaurant lists. Wield does not follow redirects to other hosts. Passwords and cookies never leave your computer. Wield logs the request on your computer only, with the method, host, path, status and timing. It never logs bodies or query values. Telemetry is off by default.

Just Eat's terms, in plain words

Just Eat's terms prohibit scraping and automated systematic retrieval. The recipe is one search at a time that you start yourself, from your own browser. It makes one request per search. It is not for bulk work, and it does not place orders. Ordering stays on just-eat.co.uk.

Our review of these terms is not finished. Read Just Eat's terms yourself before you use this recipe in any other way.

Limits and what is not working yet

  • Search only. The recipe lists restaurants. Ordering stays on just-eat.co.uk.
  • Postcode in, not address. The recipe needs a full UK postcode. It does no address lookup.
  • Sponsored placements are hidden by default. Set include_sponsored to true to keep them.
  • No benchmark yet. This recipe is not in our benchmark, so there are no benchmark numbers for it.
  • Run limits apply. A run has at most 12 steps, 40 requests, 5 MB per response and 60 seconds.

FAQ

Can the agent order food?

No. The recipe only searches. Open the restaurant's url to order on just-eat.co.uk.

Does it need a Just Eat login?

No. The search works without an account.

Which AI apps work with it?

Any MCP client. npx -y wield-mcp init sets up Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. Other MCP clients work with the standard stdio config. The AI apps page lists each one.

Is there an official Just Eat MCP server?

Not that we know of as of 7 November 2026. Wield provides this search as a recipe that runs in your browser.

Where do the results go?

To your agent, on your own computer. They never pass through wield.run.
