Let Claude search Just Eat restaurants that deliver to a UK postcode

To let Claude search Just Eat restaurants, install Wield and give a full UK postcode. Claude runs the just-eat.co.uk/search-restaurants recipe in your own browser. It returns restaurants with rating, delivery time, delivery fee, minimum order, free-delivery threshold, cuisines and a link to the menu. The default order is Just Eat's own ranking, and no login is needed.

What you need

  • An MCP client such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor or Codex.
  • A Chromium browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Vivaldi, Opera or Chromium) with the Wield extension.
  • wield-mcp. Run npx -y wield-mcp init. The install page and the quick start cover the details.

You don't need a Just Eat account to search.

Ask your agent

Give the UK postcode and what you want to eat. Example:

You: Which pizza places deliver to EC4M 7RF and are open now? Show the delivery fee and the minimum order.

Claude calls find_recipe to find the recipe, then runs just-eat.co.uk/search-restaurants with postcode set to EC4M 7RF and cuisine set to pizza. It then reads the fees and minimums from each restaurant.

Params: what to put where

Your agent fills these in from your sentence.

ParamRequiredWhat it means
postcodeyesA full UK postcode, such as EC4M 7RF or M1 1AE
servicenodelivery (the default) or collection for pickup
cuisinenoA cuisine name, such as pizza, indian, chinese, sushi or vegan
namenoOnly restaurants whose name contains this text
open_nownoDefault true. Only restaurants open now for the chosen service
sortnodefault (Just Eat's ranking), rating (best rated first, weighted by review count) or distance (closest first)
include_sponsorednoDefault false. Set to true to keep paid placements, marked as sponsored
limitnoMaximum restaurants returned: 5, 10, 25 (the default) or 50

The recipe takes a postcode only. It does no address lookup, so give the postcode itself.

What comes back

FieldMeaning
area and postal_codeThe area and postcode the recipe used
totalMatching restaurants before the limit is applied
restaurantsA list of restaurants

Each restaurant has id, name, url, cuisines, rating, rating_count, open_now, eta_min_from and eta_min_to (the delivery time range in minutes), distance_m, address, deals, new, sponsored, delivery_fee_gbp, min_order_gbp and free_delivery_from_gbp. Money fields are in pounds sterling.

The url opens the restaurant on just-eat.co.uk, where you order.

What leaves your computer

The recipe makes one request to uk.api.just-eat.io, the API host that the Just Eat site calls for restaurant lists. The request goes out from a tab in your own browser. The recipe sends no cookies, tokens or custom headers beyond what the site itself sends. Nothing goes through wield.run.

Our check on 7 November 2026 passed all 7 checks in one request. The recipe's status is OK.

Limits and terms

  • Just Eat's terms prohibit scraping and automated systematic retrieval. Run one search at a time for your own question, from your own browser.
  • The recipe makes one request per search. Don't loop it.
  • Sponsored placements are removed by default.
  • Ordering stays on just-eat.co.uk. The recipe finds restaurants and does not place orders.
  • Our review of Just Eat's terms is not finished. Read them yourself before any other use.

FAQ

Can Claude place the order?

No. Ordering stays on just-eat.co.uk. The recipe only searches. Open the restaurant's url from the result to order.

Can I search for pickup instead of delivery?

Yes. Set service to collection.

Why are closed restaurants missing?

open_now defaults to true, so only restaurants open now for the chosen service are returned. Ask your agent to include closed restaurants if you want them.

Why does the postcode matter?

Delivery depends on where you are. The recipe looks up restaurants that deliver to the postcode you give, so use a full, current UK postcode.
