Let Claude search Trenitalia trains between two Italian stations
To let Claude search Trenitalia trains, install Wield and name two Italian stations, a date and a time. For example: "Find Trenitalia trains from Roma to Milano Centrale on 14 January 2027 from 8 in the morning, and show the price." Claude runs the lefrecce.it/search-trains recipe in your own browser. It returns the trains with departure and arrival times, changes, train names, the lowest available price and whether each train can still be bought. No login is needed.

For the full setup, follow the quick start.
Ask your agent
Give the departure station, the arrival station and the earliest departure time. Say if you want Frecce trains only, regional trains only, or direct trains only. Claude calls find_recipe to find the recipe, then run with the parameters.
You: Find Trenitalia trains from Firenze S. M. Novella to Venezia for two adults, direct trains only.
Params: what to put where
| Param | Required | What to put in it |
|---|---|---|
from | yes | Station or city, such as Roma, Milano Centrale or Firenze S. M. Novella |
to | yes | Station or city, such as Milano Centrale or Venezia |
departure | yes | Earliest departure in Italian local time, such as 2027-01-14T08:00 |
adults | no | Number of adults. Default 1 |
children | no | Number of children. Default 0 |
frecce_only | no | true shows only high-speed Frecce trains. Default false |
regional_only | no | true shows only regional trains. Default false |
direct_only | no | true shows only trains with no changes. Default false |
limit | no | How many trains to return. Default 10 |
Use a date in the future. The departure value must include the date and the time.
What comes back
The result has from, to, a trains list and book_at. Each train shows the departure and arrival times, the duration, the origin and destination, and the number of changes. It also names the trains and their types, and shows price_eur, price_indicative and for_sale.
for_sale tells you whether the train can still be bought. Read it before you act on a price.
What leaves your computer
The recipe makes three requests to www.lefrecce.it: one station lookup for each end, and one search. The requests go out from your browser. Nothing passes through wield.run. Wield logs each request on your computer, with method, host, path, status and timing, but never bodies or query values. Telemetry is off by default. Wield never reads, copies or sends your cookies or passwords.
A status check on 7 November 2026 for Roma to Milano on 14 January at 08:00 passed 5 of 5 checks in about 2.9 seconds.
Trenitalia's terms, in plain words
We have not reviewed lefrecce.it's terms yet. The site's robots.txt only bans a few named crawlers. This recipe does what the site's own search form does: one lookup per station and one search per call. It does not book, and it does not add anything to a cart. Do not run it in a loop to collect timetables in bulk.
This is not legal advice. Read the site's terms yourself before you automate anything else.
Limits
- Read only. The recipe never books. Buying happens on lefrecce.it.
- Unknown stations fail. A station name the site does not know fails at the lookup step, before the search runs.
- Check availability.
for_saleshows whether a train can still be bought. Prices are the lowest available at the time of the search. - Run limits apply. A run has at most 12 steps, 40 requests, 5 MB per response and 60 seconds.
FAQ
Can Claude buy the ticket?
No. The recipe searches only. Buy on lefrecce.it.
Does it include regional trains?
Yes. Leave regional_only at its default to search without that filter, or set it to true to see only regional trains.
Does it need a login?
No. The search needs no Trenitalia account.
Does a search cost model tokens?
The recipe itself makes no model call, so a run costs no LLM tokens. Your agent still reads the result, which uses its usual tokens.
