Let Claude search OTTO products with price and list price
Wield lets Claude search OTTO, a large German online shop, and read the prices. Claude runs the otto.de/search-products recipe with a search term. The request runs in your own browser, as a person browsing would. The result gives each product's price, list price (UVP), discount, rating count and link. Nothing passes through wield.run.

What you need
- An MCP client such as Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor or Codex.
- A Chromium browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Vivaldi, Opera or Chromium) with the Wield extension.
- wield-mcp. Follow the quick start and the install page, then run
npx -y wield-mcp init.
No OTTO account is needed. This recipe needs no login.
Ask your agent
Ask with the product, the price limit and the fields you want. For example:
"Search OTTO for an espresso machine under 300 euros and show price, list price and ratings."
Claude calls find_recipe, then run with otto.de/search-products. It sends the product as query and the price limit as max_price.
Params: what to put where
| Param | Required | What to put |
|---|---|---|
query | yes | What to look for, for example kaffeemaschine, espresso maschine or boxspringbett 180x200 |
max_price | no | A price limit in euros. It applies to the products on the returned page only |
include_sponsored | no | true keeps sponsored products. The default is false, which drops them |
What comes back
The output has two fields: query and products. Each product has id, article_number, name, brand, title, price_eur, list_price_eur, discount_pct, rating_count, label, facts, sponsored, image and url.
Prices and list prices are in euros. Labels such as "Sehr beliebt" come back in label. The facts field holds the top product facts.
The recipe reads about 18 products from the first results page. The rest of OTTO's list loads later in the page, so this recipe does not return it.
In a browser check on 7 November 2026 at 19:00, the search for "espressomaschine" returned HTTP 200 in 486 ms. About 18 of its 100 product tiles carried data on the first load. The rest hydrated later.
What leaves your computer
The recipe sends one request to www.otto.de. It leaves from your own browser tab, in the same session you use for OTTO. Nothing goes through wield.run.
Limits and terms
The recipe works only from your browser. Requests from servers, and first visits without cookies, get HTTP 400 from OTTO. This is why the recipe does not run on a server.
Each call loads one search page, as a person browsing would. The recipe does not add to a cart and does not use an account.
Wield caps every run at 12 steps, 40 requests and 60 seconds.
FAQ
Does one search return every OTTO product?
No. It returns about 18 products from the first results page. Use a more specific query or a max_price limit to narrow the list.
Are sponsored products included?
Only when you pass include_sponsored set to true. By default, sponsored products are dropped, and each product's sponsored field tells you which ones were paid.
Can Claude buy the product?
No. The recipe only reads search results. It does not add items to a cart or place an order.
Which AI apps work with Wield?
