How to let Claude find a free Doctolib appointment

To let Claude find a free Doctolib appointment, install Wield, then ask in plain words: "find a dermatologist in Berlin with a free slot next week, public insurance". Claude calls two read-only Wield recipes: one searches doctors, the other reads each practice's free slots. Both run in your own browser, so no login or password is shared with anyone.

Everything for Doctolib

What you need

  • Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or another MCP client.
  • A Chromium browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Vivaldi, Opera) with the Wield extension.
  • wield-mcp. Run npx -y wield-mcp init, or use the one-click Claude Desktop bundle on wield.run/install.

You don't need to be logged in to Doctolib to search or read slots. Booking needs your login.

Steps

  1. Install Wield. Follow the quick start. It ends with a live check that runs one recipe.
  2. Ask for the doctor and the window. Include the specialty, the city, your insurance (public or private) and the dates. The insurance matters: if the sector is wrong, Doctolib returns empty days, not an error.
  3. Claude searches practitioners. It runs doctolib.de/search-practitioners, which returns names, addresses, whether new patients are accepted, video consultation, and the ids the slot lookup needs.
  4. Claude reads free slots. For the practitioners you care about, it runs doctolib.de/get-slots for up to 7 days from a start date. When the window is empty, you also get the next free slot.
  5. You book. Open the practice on Doctolib and book as usual. Wield's book-slot recipe can prepare it, but it always stops for your Allow, never accepts the practice's notices for you, and leaves the final confirmation to you.

Example

You: Find a Hautarzt in Berlin-Mitte who takes new public-insurance patients and has something before Friday.

Claude: I searched Doctolib for dermatologists in Berlin (public insurance) and checked free slots for the first practices that accept new patients. Two have slots before Friday: …

What leaves your computer

Nothing goes to Wield. The requests go only to www.doctolib.de, from a Doctolib tab in your browser, at the pace of a person. The search takes 3 requests and the slot lookup takes 1. They're logged locally in ~/.wield/logs, and the log keeps no bodies and no query values. Health searches are sensitive, so results stay on your device.

Be a good guest

Doctolib's terms prohibit automated access and scraping. Use this for your own lookups, one at a time. Don't loop it to watch for cancellations. Polling hurts the service and is exactly what those terms prohibit.

FAQ

Can Claude book the appointment for me?

Only with your click. Booking is a write, so Wield shows every request it would send and waits for your Allow. As of 7 November 2026 the booking recipe is untested and needs a logged-in recording, so book on Doctolib yourself for now.

Does this work with ChatGPT?

Wield runs as a local MCP server. Clients that can start local MCP servers work, including Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. See AI apps that work with Wield.

How reliable is it?

In our benchmark on 7 November 2026, the slot lookup passed 8 of 8 runs with a median of 0.35 s. A cloud browser agent passed 1 of 2 runs with a median of 71 s. Details: Doctolib free slots benchmark.
