Let Claude compare electricity tariffs on CHECK24

To let Claude compare electricity tariffs, install Wield and give it a German postcode and your yearly consumption in kWh. For example: "Compare green electricity tariffs for postcode 10178 at 2,500 kWh a year and show the cheapest five by annual cost." Claude runs the check24.de/compare-electricity recipe in your own browser and gets the tariffs CHECK24 shows for that postcode. No login is needed.

What you need

  • Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or another MCP client.
  • A Chromium browser (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Vivaldi, Opera) with the Wield extension.
  • wield-mcp. Run npx -y wield-mcp init, or use the one-click Claude Desktop bundle on wield.run/install.

For the full setup, follow the quick start.

Ask your agent

Give the postcode and the yearly consumption. Say whether you want only green tariffs, whether dynamic tariffs are fine, and how many results you need. Claude calls find_recipe to find the recipe, then run with the parameters.

You: Compare green electricity tariffs for postcode 10178 at 2,500 kWh a year and show the cheapest five by annual cost.

Claude then runs check24.de/compare-electricity with zip_code, consumption_kwh, green_only and limit, and ranks the tariffs by the annual cost field.

Params: what to put where

ParamRequiredWhat to put in it
zip_codeyesGerman postcode, for example 10178.
consumption_kwhyesYearly consumption in kWh, for example 2500 for two people.
citynoOnly needed when a postcode covers several places. Otherwise Wield looks it up.
sortnoprice (default) ranks by CHECK24's price with bonuses. popularity uses CHECK24's default order.
green_onlynotrue keeps only 100 percent renewable (Ökostrom) tariffs. Default false.
exclude_dynamicnotrue drops tariffs whose price follows the exchange price. Default false.
limitno5, 10 or 25. Default 10.

What comes back

The result has zip_code, city, other_places, consumption_kwh, summary, results_url, local_default_tariff, total and tariffs. If a postcode covers several places, other_places lists them, and you can rerun with city to pick one.

Each tariff shows the provider, the monthly price as CHECK24 shows it, the price after the bonus period, the working price, the base price and the bonuses. It also shows the minimum term, the price guarantee, the green and dynamic flags and the ratings. The recipe adds annual_cost_eur. This is a bonus-free annual cost, computed from the base and working prices. CHECK24's shown price mixes different bases, so this figure gives a like-for-like ranking.

local_default_tariff is the basic supplier tariff (Grundversorgung) that CHECK24 compares against.

What leaves your computer

The recipe makes 2 requests to energie.check24.de. They go out from a check24.de tab in your browser. Nothing passes through wield.run. Each comparison creates a calculation on CHECK24's side.

Limits and terms

  • CHECK24's terms prohibit automated data extraction. The recipe runs one comparison at a time from your browser. Each call creates a server-side calculation, so ask for a comparison when you need one, not in a loop.
  • To switch provider, open the comparison at results_url on CHECK24. The switch happens on CHECK24, not in Wield.
  • Status on 7 Nov 2026 is "ok". The check ran for Berlin, postcode 10178, and for München, postcode 80331. It took 2 requests and 1.6 s.

In our benchmark (as of 7 Nov 2026, preliminary, still running), the recipe passed 9 of 9 runs with a median of 1544 ms and no model cost. Browser Use with Claude Sonnet 5.5 passed 5 of 5 runs, with a median of 103.4 s and $0.26 per run. The check required at least five tariffs with provider, tariff name and monthly price. The method is on the benchmark page.
