PerimeterX / HUMAN
PerimeterX is a bot-defence vendor. HUMAN Security acquired it in 2022, and the product is now offered as HUMAN Bot Defender. It challenges suspicious sessions, often with a press-and-hold test, where the visitor must press and hold a control for a few seconds. The challenge appears in the browser that loaded the site, so the visitor can complete it there.
How PerimeterX / HUMAN works
The product sits in front of a site and scores incoming sessions. It challenges the sessions it rates as suspicious. A challenge page can block the content until the visitor passes the check. Site owners choose how strict the protection is.
Why it matters for AI agents
PerimeterX is another major bot-protection layer that agents meet. An agent that hits a challenge sees a check page instead of the data it needs, and the task stops there. Until someone passes the check, the agent has no data to read, however the request is sent.
Wield and PerimeterX / HUMAN
When a site shows a challenge, Wield stops with site_challenge and asks you to solve it in your own tab. Wield does not solve or work around this or any other challenge. The check runs in your browser, with the session you already have.

What is a press-and-hold challenge?
It is a check where the visitor presses and holds a button for a few seconds. Wield does not automate it. When it appears, you complete it yourself.
