Let your AI agent find recipes and cooking videos
Wield gives your AI agent two cooking tools today. chefkoch.de/search-recipes searches German recipes and returns rating, difficulty and preparation time. youtube.com/search-videos searches videos and returns channel, views, length and upload date. Both run in your own browser, so your agent gets structured results it can filter and compare.
Recipes covered today
| Recipe | What it returns | Status (7 Nov 2026) |
|---|---|---|
chefkoch.de/search-recipes | Recipes with rating, difficulty and preparation time | Verified: 5 of 5 checks, 1 request, 0.2 s |
youtube.com/search-videos | Videos with channel, views, length and upload date | Verified: 5 of 5 checks, 10 videos in 855 ms for "lasagne recipe" |
These are the only cooking recipes in the registry today. Wield has no recipe for other recipe sites yet. Your agent can ask for one with request_recipe, which adds the site and task to the public request list.
What a search returns
A Chefkoch search makes one request and returns each recipe with its rating, difficulty and preparation time. A YouTube search returns each video with its channel, view count, length and upload date. Your agent can then open a shortlist or compare two or three results side by side.
The Chefkoch recipe reads a public JSON gateway and needs no login. Both recipes return results in the same shape each time. That makes follow-up questions simple, such as "only the ones under 30 minutes" or "only videos from the last year", without a new search.
Example prompts
- "Find chicken curry recipes on Chefkoch and list the three best rated with their preparation time."
- "Search YouTube for lasagne recipes sorted by views. Show only videos uploaded this year."
- "Which of these Chefkoch recipes take under 30 minutes? Show rating and difficulty."
- "Find a short German cooking video for a quick weeknight dinner, under 10 minutes long."
What the recipes do and don't do
- Brand campaigns are dropped. The Chefkoch recipe leaves out brand-campaign recipes by default.
- Shorts are left out. The YouTube recipe returns full videos, not the Shorts shelves.
- Search only. The recipes read search results. They don't save favourites or open a logged-in cookbook. The registry has no recipe for either today.
- Country setting. The YouTube recipe honours a country setting. In our check,
country=DEchanged the results as expected.
How it compares with a browser agent
In our benchmark, the Chefkoch recipe passed 9 of 9 runs with a median of 414 ms. A cloud browser agent passed 8 of 8 runs with a median of 39,527 ms and a model cost of $0.0957 per run. YouTube is not in the benchmark yet. These figures are preliminary, as of 7 Nov 2026, because the benchmark is still running. The full method is on the benchmark page.

FAQ
Does this work outside Germany?
The Chefkoch recipe is for chefkoch.de, a German site. The YouTube recipe takes a country setting, and the check used DE. Wield has no recipe for other national recipe sites yet. You can request one with request_recipe.
Does Wield save my recipes or my shopping list?
No. Wield runs searches and returns the results to your AI app. Results never pass through wield.run. The local log keeps method, host, path, status and timing, but no bodies or query values.
Which AI apps can use these recipes?
Any MCP client. npx -y wield-mcp init sets up Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. See AI apps that work with Wield.
