eBay MCP server: let your AI agent search listings with bids and shipping
Wield is an MCP server that gives your AI agent an eBay search tool for six country sites: eBay Germany, eBay US, eBay UK, eBay France, eBay Italy and eBay Spain. Each returns a listing's price, current bid, Buy It Now price, shipping cost, condition and seller. It runs from a tab in your own browser with your own session, so the requests come from your machine, not a cloud.

What your agent gets
| Recipe | What it does | Login | Status (7 Nov 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
ebay.de/search-listings | Searches listings with price, auction bids, Buy It Now, shipping, condition and seller rating | No | OK, browser only |
The tool needs a search query. Optional filters cover a minimum and maximum price, condition (any, new or used), auctions or Buy It Now, free shipping, items located in Germany, sort order and page. Promoted listings marked "Anzeige" are dropped unless you set include_sponsored.
In an in-browser test on 7 November 2026, a search for iphone 13 128gb with a maximum price of 400 EUR returned 60 result cards in 1.4 seconds. eBay shows counts such as "9.200+", so the total the tool returns is a lower bound.
Countries
Wield has one search recipe for each eBay country site below. All six take a query and the same price, condition, format, free shipping, sort, page and sponsored filters. Each also has one location filter of its own. Each recipe is browser only, because eBay answers servers with a 403 error. The terms notes differ slightly between the two groups (see eBay's terms below).

How a request flows
- You ask your agent: "Find used iPhone 13 128GB listings on eBay under 400 euros, Buy It Now only."
- The agent calls
find_recipe, thenrunwithebay.de/search-listingsand the filters it picked. wield-mcppasses the run through the local bridge to the Wield extension.- The extension sends one search request from an ebay.de tab, so it carries your normal browser session.
- The results go back to your agent. Nothing passes through wield.run.
eBay answers requests from servers with a 403 error. This recipe therefore runs only in your browser.
What leaves your computer
The only host is the eBay site you search, such as www.ebay.de, and one run loads one search page. The extension sends the request the way your browser loads the search page. Results travel from the extension to wield-mcp and then to your AI app.
Wield logs each request on your computer only: method, host, path, status and timing. It never logs bodies or query values. Telemetry is off by default. Wield never reads, copies or sends your cookies or passwords.
eBay's terms, in plain words
The robots.txt of eBay.de, eBay.fr, eBay.it and eBay.es disallows AI crawlers, including ClaudeBot and anthropic-ai. The robots.txt of eBay.com and eBay.co.uk disallows Claude-User (AI agents acting for users) on search URLs, and Anthropic's crawlers site-wide. On all six sites, eBay's user agreement restricts automated access and scraping without permission. Wield runs this recipe only when you ask, in your own browser, one search page per call: no bulk collection, no bidding and no buying. This is not legal advice. Check eBay's terms yourself before you automate anything beyond single searches.
Limits and what is not working yet
- Read only. Search is the only tool. Bidding, buying and messaging sellers are not part of this recipe.
- Browser only. eBay blocks server requests, so the tool works only where your own browser runs.
- Counts are lower bounds. eBay shows totals such as "9.200+", and the tool returns them as shown.
- Promoted listings are hidden by default. Set
include_sponsoredto keep them. - Run limits apply. A run has at most 12 steps, 40 requests, 5 MB per response and 60 seconds.
- No benchmark row yet. None of the three eBay recipes has a benchmark run, so we publish no speed comparison for them.
FAQ
Which eBay countries work?
Six country sites have a search recipe: eBay.de (Germany), eBay.com (US), eBay.co.uk (UK), eBay.fr (France), eBay.it (Italy) and eBay.es (Spain). The Countries table above gives each recipe id. None needs a login, and all six run only in your browser.
Is there an official eBay MCP server?
Not that we know of as of 7 November 2026.
Which AI apps work with it?
Any MCP client. npx -y wield-mcp init sets up Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. Other MCP clients work with the standard stdio config.
Does it need an eBay login?
No. Search works without an eBay account. The request uses the session your browser already has, and Wield never reads, copies or sends your cookies or passwords.
How fast is it compared with a browser agent?
The eBay recipes have no benchmark row yet. Across the 24 benchmark tasks on 21 sites, as of 7 November 2026 and still preliminary, the Wield recipe passed 85% of runs with a median of 0.9 seconds. Browser agents passed 52% with a median of 78 seconds. Full method on the benchmark page.
